Making a Pantry
Having a pantry with supplies available to students is a very helpful asset to have at your school, here we will tell you how to create one and initiate the idea to your school's community!
Clairemont High School Pantry (and drop-in center)
At Clairemont High School we have a pantry open to students to grab whatever essentials they need, with no questions asked! It is located in room 310 and open during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays, swing by and grab what you need. We also have a drop-in center located in room 301.
How to Make a Pantry
While you're walking around school keep your eyes open for any rooms that seem unused
Bring up the idea of a pantry to your principal
Find somebody who can be in charge of keeping the room stocked up and clean, they/you must be responsible and consistently watch after it.
Organize donation days where students can donate whatever needed. (Tips to start a donation event: Pick a place in your school that students often go to and set up boxes, promote it by putting up posters, and have your teachers talk about it to their class.)
Gather donations and fill up your new pantry!
Inform your peers about the new pantry
